pl.n. (used with a sing. or pl. verb)
A confection consisting of rounded bits of dough cooked briefly in a honey syrup and sometimes mixed with nuts or candied fruit.
[Yiddish teyglekh, from teygl, diminutive of teyg, dough, from Middle High German teig, from Old High German teic; see dheigh- in the Appendix of Indo-European roots.]
