Some compound words (like bus rapid transit, dog whistle, or identity theft) don’t appear on the drop-down list when you type them in the search bar. For best results with compound words, place a quotation mark before the compound word in the search window.

American biochemist. He shared a 1980 Nobel Prize for developing a way to construct recombinant DNA molecules.

American golfer who was one of the founders of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (1950) and who won 60 professional tournament titles, including 15 major championship titles, during her career.

Austrian composer. A pupil of Arnold Schoenberg, he applied atonal methods to classical forms in works such as the opera Wozzeck (1925).
