Shas·ta (shăstə), Mount
A volcanic peak, 4,317 m (14,162 ft) high, of the Cascade Range in northern California north of Redding. Shasta Lake, a large reservoir formed in 1945 by the damming of the Sacramento River, is south of the mountain.
