Saq·qa·ra also Sak·ka·ra (sə-kärə)
A village of northern Egypt near Cairo. It is the site of the oldest Egyptian pyramids, including the Step Pyramid built for the ruler Zoser during the III Dynasty (c. 2650-2580 BC).
