Sa·lie·ri (säl-yĕrē), Antonio 1750-1825.
Italian composer whose operas and chamber works won him the position of Kapellmeister to the Austrian court (1788-1824). He also served as a tutor to younger composers including Beethoven, Liszt, and Schubert.
